March Meeting

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Pasquale's Restaurant
$20/pp for buffet dinner

31555 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak (Just north of 13 Mile)

Guest Speaker:
Ted Arkfeld, DC

Advanced Compliance Technologies:
"Compliance is the Answer"

Historically, doctors have submitted claims to Medicare and received payment. However, just because they got paid does not mean that claims were coded properly, nor does it prove that the care was “medically necessary.” Incorrect coding and lack of documented medical necessity are the basis for post-payment audits. Some audits are followed by a demand for repayment. You shouldn’t fear an audit. You should be informed about how to avoid one.

Join Dr. Ted Arkfeld of Advanced Compliance Technologies as he discusses Medicare submission and payment, and why Electronic Health Records are your future. Dr. Arkfeld will cover the following topics:

  1. What triggers a Medicare audit?

  2. What you should and should not do when undergoing a Medicare audit

  3. Ways to avoid a Medicare audit

  4. Why Electronic Medical Records are crucial in today’s healthcare
