MAC Executive Committee
A five-member Executive Committee will execute the
directions of the MAC Board of Directors. This committee consists of the
Chairman (Past President), the President, the Vice President, a Director of
Internal Affairs, and a Director of Financial Affairs.
This Executive Committee currently consists of:
Kirk
Steketee, DC, President
Dr. Steketee, a former President of the Michigan
Chiropractic Society, is the new MAC President. Dr. Steketee was
instrumental in the negotiations between the three Michigan chiropractic
organizations that formed the MCS in 1988, and he served as First Vice
President of the new organization before becoming MCS President in 1990.
A 1975 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr.
Steketee served as a combat medic in Vietnam before becoming a DC. He is a
former winner of the MCS Legislative Leadership Award. He and his wife,
Nancy, live in Holland.
Donald M. Reno, DC, Vice President
Longtime MCA member Dr. Donald Reno serves as the MAC Vice
President. As VP, Dr. Reno also serves as Director of External Affairs. Dr.
Reno is a lifelong resident of Michigan who was raised in Harper Woods. A
graduate of Life Chiropractic College, he has been in private practice since
1985.
Along with his duties for the MAC, Dr. Reno also serves on
the Board of Directors of the Chiropractic Federal Credit Union and as the
Michigan representative to the International Chiropractors Association. He
is the recipient of numerous awards, including the MCA Extraordinary Service
Award (2006), the Michigan Chiropractic Council Distinguished Contribution
Award (1992, 1993, 1994 & 1995), and the ICA Distinguished Fellow (2006). He
and his wife, Sue, live in Sterling Heights.
Robert Markle, DC, Director of Internal Affairs
Dr. Robert Markle is a 1994 graduate of Palmer College of
Chiropractic. He has served the Michigan Chiropractic Society in a number of
capacities over the years, including as Director and President of MCS
District 4 and as Chair of the MCS Membership Committee Member Benefits
Subcommittee.
He and his wife, Sandra, who is also a doctor of
chiropractic, live in Bay City.
Dr. Eric Seif, DC, Director of Financial Affairs
Dr. Eric Seif has been in private practice in Caledonia
since 1989. He is a 1986 graduate of National College of Chiropractic. Prior
to entering National, Dr. Seif studied Premed at Western Michigan
University.
Dr. Seif served the MCS in a number of capacities over the
years, most recently as Second Vice President. He has also served as
President of MCS District 5. He is a longtime member of the association,
having joined the Michigan State Chiropractic Association, a forerunner of
the MAC, in 1985. He and his wife, Tanya, who is also a chiropractor, live
in Grand Rapids.
Thomas Klapp, DC, Chairman
Dr. Tom Klapp is a 1979 graduate of Life Chiropractic
College, where he currently serves as a Trustee. He has been in practice in
Ann Arbor, Michigan, for more than twenty-seven years (and in Northville
since 2001). He has been very active in various chiropractic associations.
He is a Past President of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations (C.O.C.S.A.),
and has served on the Board of Directors of the International Chiropractors
Association and as President of the Michigan Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Klapp and his wife, Kim, (Assistants for Chiropractic Excellence),
are creators and presenters of the B.O.L.T. (Benefit-Oriented, Long Term)
Chiropractic seminar. He has authored two books, and has received numerous
awards, honors and accolades, including MCA Chiropractor of the Year (1993
and 2006), President’s Award, Hall of Fame Award, Visionary Award, State
Leadership Award, Membership Development Award, Perseverance Award, and many
Distinguished and Outstanding Service Awards. |
