MAC-PAC: Supporting Lawmakers Who Support Chiropractic

The aggressive MAC legislative agenda, developed by the Governmental Relations Committee and the MAC Board of Directors, is dependant upon electing and re-electing lawmakers that support chiropractic. Legislators who know the healing power of chiropractic, along with the cost-effective nature of chiropractic’s conservative approach to health care, are much more likely to support chiropractic issues, including limiting excessive co-pays.


Our critical legislative priorities include co-pay equity legislation, “any willing provider” legislation, and legislation that would make Section 3475 of Michigan’s insurance code, which states that if an insurance policy or certificate provides for reimbursement for any service which may be legally performed by a person fully licensed as a doctor of chiropractic, reimbursement under the insurance policy or certificate shall not be denied if performed by a doctor of chiropractic, apply to PPOs.

It is critical that lawmakers who consistently support chiropractic in the legislature know that chiropractors and their patients support them. Donations to MAC-PAC ensure that the chiropractic point of view is represented to important Lansing health care policymakers.
